SSD Down Price! a price which is cheaper and affordable

SSD prices are getting cheaper! When the hard disk has not made it back to normal price after floods and Thailand at the end of 2011, SSD instead showed a trend of significant price declines in recent months! In fact, for some of the SSD, the price per Gigabyte was already touched the figure below U.S. $ 1/GB!

This is evident from a survey done some time ago by TechReport. Some types of SSD from leading manufacturers such as Intel, Corsair and OCZ recorded a price decline of up to 65% with an average reduction of 46% since 2011 last year. One new type of SSD from Intel, 520 Series, newly released in early 2012 is also decreasing in price quite dramatically, for example SSD 520 Series with a capacity of 240 GB, which was launched at a price range of U.S. $ 550 down to U.S. $ 350 in just 3 months.

SSD price drop was apparently triggered by the cheapening of NAND memory is widely used in SSD products. In addition, the presence of highly capable controller that has a low price also affects the SSD price drop. Downward trend in prices is also expected to continue, although not in a drastic decline from a year ago to the present.

Offered high-speed SSD can indeed make a computer more responsive and can do things more quickly. However, the high price tag that has been inherent in such devices seems to make the computer penguna still reluctant to use such storage. SSD price drop on the international market that continues to happen in the last few months could make the storage more attractive to computer users. Unfortunately, we in Indonesia may still have to wait a while longer before SSD prices in local market share following the price in international market
